In the age of Instagram, you may be tempted to take these for granted. Rest assured, these are no mere cellphone photos. I shoot everything with high-end Canon equipment and aim for over-the-top detail. These pictures are best appreciated as large prints, much larger than your phone screen.

The Magical Tree's Embrace is one of my favorite photos to date. This is an HDR composite of 5 pictures I took in 2017 at the Portland Japanese Garden. I’ve been tweaking and tuning the colors for years, pushing myself to fully develop the image into a true representation of what I saw that day. This project has been a labor of love, and I’m excited to finally share it with you.

Over a year of planning went into the creation of this photo, to capture the exact moment the sunlight would illuminate this majestic Japanese maple tree in a blaze of fiery glory. The tree has since grown to cover the vantage point I shot this from, and because this tree is specially protected, it's now impossible to recreate this frame, making this a truly unique piece.
